Supervision
Supervision for psychologists and helping professionals who want to deepen their clinical understanding.
I am a Board Approved Supervisor with the Psychology Board of Australia and offer supervision for Psychologists, Provisional Psychologists, Registrars, and other professionals working in helping roles.
Supervision offers a space to reflect on your work, explore the dynamics that arise in client relationships, and continue developing your clinical thinking and skills. Many professionals also value having a space where they can talk openly about the emotional impact of their work.
My supervision style is collaborative, reflective and supportive. Together we can explore clinical material, discuss therapeutic approaches, and make sense of the challenges that can arise in practice.
I also offer supervision for psychologists who are establishing or growing their own private practice, supporting the transition into independent work, clinical decision-making, and the realities of running a practice.
Supervision is available in person in Newcastle or online across Australia.
I offer supervision to a range of professionals who are interested in deepening their understanding of people, relationships and emotional processes.
Supervision can support you in developing clinical confidence, reflecting on complex cases, and strengthening your therapeutic skills.
We may explore client dynamics, emotional processes that arise in sessions, and how your own responses as a therapist can inform the work. My supervision is particularly suited to clinicians who are interested in psychodynamic and emotion-focused ways of working, including ISTDP.
Starting or growing a private practice can be both exciting and overwhelming. Supervision can offer a space to think through the clinical, professional and practical aspects of private practice.
This may include developing confidence in your therapeutic approach, navigating boundaries and ethical considerations, managing complex presentations, and building a practice aligned with your values.
Supervision offers a valuable space to reflect on your client work, gain new perspectives, and deepen your understanding of therapeutic relationships.
Together we can explore challenging presentations, process work that may feel stuck, and develop approaches that feel aligned with your style as a therapist.
Many allied health professionals are interested in understanding the psychological and emotional aspects of their clients’ experiences.
Supervision can support you in integrating psychological principles into your work — helping you respond more effectively to emotional distress, anxiety, trauma, and relational dynamics that may arise in your practice. Some professionals are simply curious about psychology and want to explore how these ideas apply to their work or everyday life.
Some professionals are simply curious about psychology and want to understand how psychological ideas apply to their work or everyday life.
Supervision can offer a space to explore these concepts, develop insight into human behaviour, and reflect on how emotional processes influence relationships and wellbeing.
Supervision can be a space to:
Many professionals also find supervision helpful for maintaining curiosity, preventing burnout, and continuing to grow in their work.
My supervision approach is informed by psychodynamic psychotherapy and Intensive Short-Term Dynamic Psychotherapy (ISTDP).
This means we often explore not only what is happening in the client’s life, but also what is happening within the therapeutic relationship itself.
I aim to create a supervision space that is:
Supervision is not about being evaluated or judged. It is a space where you can think openly about your work, develop new insights, and continue evolving as a practitioner.
